supernova women marijuanaI have posted a couple of articles about events that an organization called Supernova Women have put on. The organization focuses on ‘the national state of cannabis for people of color.’ That is something that I will absolutely always support, and you should too! There is an event coming up in Boston next week. Two activists that I admire very much, Shaleen Title and Amber Senter, will be presenting. It is free to those that register (you can register at this link here). Below is more information:

Supernova is pleased to present a FREE seminar for the Boston-area POC community focused on subjects relating to medical cannabis, legalization, and prison reform.

The evening was created in response to the clear need for involvement of communities of color in the advocacy efforts regarding cannabis and how to participate in the cannabis market being created in Massachusetts. The event will have two panels: one focused on the current state of affairs nationally with an overview of the legal landscape and industry, and the other will center on the future in Massachusetts: the relevant legislation, regulations, and industry opportunities here in Massachusetts, and how to get involved.

Inquiries regarding the event and sponsorship opportunities should be sent to [email protected].

Schedule:
Doors open at 5:30 pm

Panel 1
6:00-7:00 pm
Overview of National Cannabis Climate: Laws, Regulations, & Civic Engagement

Hear from some of the women at the forefront of the cannabis movement and economy in a discussion of the existing legal structures and their impact on people of color nationwide. They will highlight the multitude of ways people of color are getting involved as entrepreneurs and helping to shape the laws, as well as the individual challenges they face. This panel will feature the leaders of Supernova and other special guests to discuss their experience with the cannabis industry in California.

Panel 2
7:00-8:00 pm

Cannabis Means Business: Local Activists Share Experience and Insight

Now that the audience has a foundational understanding in what the issues and opportunities are for people of color in the cannabis community nationally, this panel will highlight the unique position of Massachusetts as a leader in the industry. The panel will be followed by a short Q&A segment during which audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists and provide feedback to members of the cannabis community as to their feelings on the subject matter. The goal is to foster an open dialogue surrounding these issues that can be captured and shared with our elected officials.
