“It’s time for the Justice Department to recognize the sovereignty of the states,” California Governor Jerry Brown said on CNN’s “State of the Union. “We are capable of self-government. We don’t need some federal gendarme to come and tell us what to do. I believe in comity toward the states, that’s a decent respect.”
I wish more Governor’s would step up. On ANY other issue, Governor’s are fighting as hard as they can to protect state’s rights, even if it’s just to protect their own power. But for some reason when it comes to marijuana policy, most Governor’s act like states’ rights don’t exist. I encourage every TWB reader to contact their Governor to tell them how they feel!
