Important Votes On Marijuana This November In Michigan

September 5, 2013
vote for marijuana

vote for marijuana michigan novemberI received the following e-mail from one of my heroes Chris Lindsey of the Marijuana Policy Project:

Thanks to the hard work of many dedicated advocates, voters in Lansing, Ferndale, and Jackson will have the opportunity to cast their votes in favor of a more sensible approach to local marijuana policies on Tuesday, November 5. All three cities have certified ballot initiatives that would prevent local government from enforcing penalties on adults who possess small amounts of marijuana in a private residence.

The effort involved an informal coalition of several groups, including the Jackson County Compassion Club, the Vote Green Initiative project, MMM Report Magazine, MI NORML, Jackson County NORML, Coalition for a Safer Michigan, and many others.

If you live in these cities, be sure to VOTE YES in November, and share this email with supportive voters in the area to help bring out the vote!

Finally, if you have not already done so, please ask your state representative and state senator to support HB 4271, which would allow and regulate dispensaries approved by their cities. You can also contact your representative and senator to voice your support for HB 4623, which would amend state law and remove all criminal penalties, including jail time, across the state.

And please share this email with friends, family, and supporters in Michigan!
