This last year New York Times reporter Maureen Dowd became the butt of many jokes when she made it obvious in an article for the New York Times that she couldn’t handle marijuana. As part of her article, she figured she would try some marijuana in the form of a candy bar. Most marijuana consumers would get a decent buzz, have a good time, and call it a night after eating a marijuana candy bar. However, Ms. Dowd was a rookie, and after eating a couple of bites, the was so high she felt the need to post the following in her article:

But then I felt a scary shudder go through my body and brain. I barely made it from the desk to the bed, where I lay curled up in a hallucinatory state for the next eight hours. I was thirsty but couldn’t move to get water. Or even turn off the lights. I was panting and paranoid, sure that when the room-service waiter knocked and I didn’t answer, he’d call the police and have me arrested for being unable to handle my candy.

I strained to remember where I was or even what I was wearing, touching my green corduroy jeans and staring at the exposed-brick wall. As my paranoia deepened, I became convinced that I had died and no one was telling me.

Since her article, Maureen Dowd has received a lot of advice about consuming cannabis and cannabis products responsibly. She even received a Christmas card from the marijuana policy project, as seen below via the Marijuana Policy Project:
