CannajobsCannajobs, a medical marijuana employment service, will hold a job fair at the West Coast Cannabis Expo and Music Festival in San Francisco the weekend of October 7 – 9, 2011. Cannajobs has partnered with companies that are looking for employees, affiliates, representatives and salespeople in the medical cannabis field. Job seekers are encouraged to bring their resumes and prepare for on-the-spot interviews.

Those interested in exploring medical marijuana jobs are invited to the medical cannabis job fair at the West Coast Cannabis Expo and Music Festival set for the weekend of October 7 to 9, 2011. Presented by Cannajobs, the job fair will match job hunters with employment representatives from medical cannabis-related companies such as WeedMaps, Cannamist, Phototron, Versativa, IAMBUD, Jerome Handley Law, Sweet Leaf Collective, Simply Chronic, California Earth Supply, and the Cannabis Career Institute.

“Cannajobs’ mission is to provide people the information they need to make the leap into the cannabis industry and match those seeking jobs in the industry with companies that need assistance,” said Robert Calkin, CEO of Cannajobs. “These aren’t just dispensary jobs; there are many attractive options available in this industry, from sales to growing to legal assistance to activism.”

Cannajobs.com is a new online resource for cannabis jobs that aims to fill employment needs in the medical cannabis industry. The site offers free job posting and applications and provides a free video conferencing system that allows online interviews, meetings and file sharing. Cannajobs is also home of The Circle, a free social networking platform where members can create groups for their businesses or interests, join live video conferences, and connect with others in the industry. Circle members can conduct “CannaMeetings” and job interviews using the site’s online videoconferencing technology.

Cannajobs partners with many companies that are looking to staff employees, affiliates, representatives and sales positions in the cannabis industry. At this event, Cannajobs will provide candidates with an honest assessment of their skill set and experience. They will also teach interested parties how to enter the industry, overcome skill gaps, develop compelling resumes, and make themselves attractive to cannabis employers.

At the Expo, cannabis career candidates will complete a brief intake form and talk to a Cannajobs career counselor to determine which types of jobs match their preferences, if there are any immediate matches, or if they need additional experience or training to become better qualified for their target career.

For those who are looking to supplement their income with part-time work, Cannajobs offers affiliate programs and resources for becoming a distributor of products. Cannajobs also teaches entrepreneurs how to start their own medical marijuana business.

Cannabis industry job seekers who attend the expo will have access to the Cannajobs.com website, where they may post their resumes and query job openings. They will also receive access to a free video conferencing room that they can use to network and promote themselves. Businesses will also be able to sign up with Cannajobs at no charge. They can also initiate free video conferences, which they can promote their goods and services, as well as conduct interviews with prospective employees privately and efficiently.

“Cannajobs offers a valuable public service by offering information and guidance to anyone who wishes to move into the medical marijuana industry,” said Calkin. “After the job fair, job seekers can continue their search for jobs on Cannajobs.com and interview for positions by using our free video conferencing room called The Circle.”

Medical marijuana companies are urged to contact Cannajobs prior to the event to discuss their current hiring needs. “There is still room for companies in the medical marijuana industry to join the job fair,” said Calkin. “It’s best to contact us in advance, but since this is an informal event, you can also just come by our booth at the show and talk to potential employees,” said Calkin.

The West Coast Cannabis Expo and Music Festival will take place Friday, October 7 from 3 to 9 pm; Saturday, October 8 from 11 am to 9 pm; and Sunday, October 9 from 11 am to 7 pm at the Cow Palace, located at 2600 Geneva Avenue in Daly City, just south of San Francisco.

Single-day tickets are available for $23.25, and 3-day passes can be purchased for $45. The event is open to the public, but attendees must have a valid doctor’s recommendation to enter the designated medicating area. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online at https://westcoastcannabisexpo.com/buytickets.html.

Sponsors of the West Coast Cannabis Expo and Music Festival include: Weedmaps.com, Be Legally Green (BLG), Humboldt Nation Distribution, Bhang Medicinal Chocolates, SoCalSeedCo.com, ConspireATL.com, The BISS List, BISS Entertainment, CwAnalytical.com and Elemental Wellness.
