Massachusetts recently qualified for a recreational ballot measure this November, and the good news was promptly followed by 10 Democratic state law makers throwing their support behind Measure 4.

The Democrats endorsing the measure are: Sen. Will Brownsberger (D-Belmont), Rep. David Rogers (D-Cambridge), Rep. Marjorie C Decker (D-Cambridge), Rep. Tom Sannicandro (D-Framingham), Sen. Pat Jehlen (D-Cambridge), Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton), Rep. Michael Moran (D-Brighton), Rep. Jay Livingstone (D-Boston), Rep. Brian Mannal (D-Centerville), and Rep. Mary Keefe (D-Worcester).

Referencing a new revenue source for The Codfish State, each of the ten representatives have flexed their political muscles for the advancement of the 420-revolution, as well as the truth.

Pointing to the societal carnage caused by the feds’ ruthlessly moronic policy, Rep. Rogers acknowledged the ugly little truth about prohibition.

“Despite decades of current policy, nothing has changed and the time has long since come to take a more realistic approach. By regulating and taxing the sale of marijuana in the Commonwealth we will allow law enforcement to focus on serious crimes, raise substantial revenue, and all but eliminate a dangerous black market.”

Also looking for real ‘Justice’ rather than “Just-Us” in the slammer, Rep. Decker noted:

“While one may not personally approve of marijuana use, we have a responsibility to look at its regulation in a broader context. The current rules are in stark contrast to how other legal drugs, such as alcohol, are regulated. I also believe this new form of regulation will improve education of young people about all types of drug use.”

Welcome to the end of America’s marijuana prohibition in the 21st century – stand up, vote, and be heard. Though Massachusetts may not break the bondage of prohibition this election cycle, history will most certainly view this ill-conceived policy as one of the ugliest ideas ever embraced by the terminally dumb.
