The first week of June is Hemp History Week and we are extremely fortunate in presenting Courtney Moran to speak at our June 4th networking event.

Courtney N. Moran, LL.M. is an Oregon attorney who advocates for agricultural industrial hemp. Courtney grew up in Colgate, WI and was valedictorian of Germantown HighSchool. During law school, Courtney interned for Keith Stroup at NORML in Washington, D.C. She is currently licensed to practice law in Oregon, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. After moving to Oregon in 2011, she practiced criminal defense with a focus on medical marijuana patient defense. In December 2013, Courtney graduated magna cum laude from Lewis and Clark Law School with a Master of Laws in Environmental and Natural Resources Law, with an emphasis in Industrial Hemp Law. She also completed the world’s first industrial hemp university course, offered at Oregon State University in the spring of 2013. Courtney developed, organized, and presented an educational industrial hemp conference during the 5th Annual Hemp History Week.

She has presented on industrial hemp law and policy at Seattle’s Hempfest, Portland’s Hempstalk, anOregon Cannabis Industry Association event, the Oregon Hemp Convention, the NoCo Hemp Expo (Loveland, Colorado), and at Oregon State University. Courtney is the founder of the Oregon Hemp Industries Association Chapter. Courtney currently practices in Portland, Oregon as a solo practitioner for EARTH Law, LLC (Environmental Advocate Representing True Hemp Law, LLC).

We will also hear from Ashley Preece-Sachett of Cascadia Labs. She is one of our much loved sustaining sponsors and will tell us a little about her business, and her perspective on being a successful female entrepreneur in the cannabis industry. Programming will last for approximately 90 minutes which leaves us 90 more minutes to network and connect. We fully anticipate another sold out event with ticket sales limited to 100.
