Today is National Voter Registration Day and it is critically important that we make sure all cannabis reform supporters are registered to vote and will turn out on election day for pro-cannabis candidates this year for the “Marijuana Midterms.”
With just six weeks until Election Day, NORML is rolling out educational tools for all of us to take when we go to the ballot booth.
NORML has graded every incumbent and major candidate for federal office throughout the country - making it easy for you to get the facts.
Check out this handy tool, which is a voting guide for every state in the union: SMOKE THE VOTE.
NORML chapters around the country have recorded many of the positions of candidates for state-level offices and created a scorecard.
The scorecard is meant to be a living document. With over 10,000 legislators at the state and federal level across the entire country, we all need to be informed and up to date about which candidates are already in favor of legalization and which ones need a little help from the their constituents.
NORML is asking our help to keep its scorecard up to date. If there is a candidate whose position is missing or if they have said something of importance about marijuana policy, contact NORML by clicking here.
Here are some other tools put together by NORML to help us all use our votes wisely:
NORML Election Central: Learn about the various ballot initiatives around the country and see all of the NORML PAC endorsed candidates.
NORML Voter Registration Tool: NORML has partnered with Rock the Vote making it easy and fast for you and your friends to register to vote.
“We need more voices supporting reform in the political process. If our supporters are not registered and voting, lawmakers will not hear the need for legislative action,” say our friends at NORML.
Make sure your friends, family, and neighbors are registered to #SmokeTheVote and make 2018 the Marijuana Midterms!
