The Make & Mary Workshops have hosted 2 events in Portland so far and their 3rd is coming up this Friday. The Make & Mary team believes cannabis inspires connection and creativity, and encourages responsible consumption, craftsmanship and conversation by providing a welcoming space where people can be themselves and cultivate a new kind of community. All events are held at The Tillamook Station.
This Friday, they will host a Shibori workshop. In Japan, the earliest known example of cloth dyed with a Shibori technique dates from the 8th century. The process is created through a series of folding, twisting, and binding using plant based indigo dye. The results are unique and beautiful. In this workshop, participants will “Make and Mary” decorative banner flags that hang on wooden dowels. Participants are also invited to bring their own garments to dye.
GreenSky Collective, a high-end North Portland dispensary, will join the workshop for a special exploration of cannabis blends and the extraction process. Karma Organics will make a guest appearance, offering an up-close look at the creation of concentrates.
They’ll provide all the necessary materials and guidance, along with mocktails, snacks and a gift from Mother Nature.
Attendees are invited to BYOW(eed) and must be 21+ years old. Space is limited.
The workshop cost is $45/person from 6-9 p.m. this Friday, 7/29/16, at The Tillamook Station. Get tickets and more information here
