I wrote an article last week urging readers to vote for Ethan Nadelmann for the 2014 Cannabis Business Awards. Ethan is being nominated for the ‘Most Influential Individual’ category. Considering how much Ethan Nadelmann and his organization the Drug Policy Alliance have done for marijuana reform, I think it’s an easy decision. On Wednesday December 10, 2014, the Cannabis Business Awards will be held in Denver, Colorado. There are several categories, with several nominees, and again, I’m urging all TWB readers to vote for Ethan Nadelmann for ‘Most Influential Individual.’
You can vote at this link here, and I urge you to vote early and often. I don’t know when voting closes, and I don’t know if you can only vote once, or once a day, or what the limit is, so vote as many times as you can for Ethan until it won’t let you do it anymore. Ethan Nadelmann is the founder and executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance, the leading organization in the United States promoting alternatives to the war on drugs. Nadelmann received his B.A., J.D., and Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard as well as a Masters’ degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and taught at Princeton University for seven years. He has authored two books – Cops Across Borders and (with Peter Andreas) Policing The Globe – and his writings have appeared in most major media outlets in the U.S. as well as top academic journals (e.g., Science, International Organization), policy journals (Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Washington Quarterly,Public Interest) and political publications from the right (National Review) to the left (The Nation).
