Colorado lawmakers are considering forcing retailers to place marijuana magazines – such as High Times - behind counters with Playboy and other pornographic magazines. The provision was slipped into a regulation measure currently going through the State’s Legislature. It was added by the House as an amendment to the bill, before being approved, and sent to the Senate.
According to the Associated Press, High Times Magazine is considering filing a lawsuit against the state if the law passes, claiming that it’s ”patently unconstitutional”. Colorado would be the first state in the nation to approve such a ban, despite the state being one of only two which legalized marijuana possession this past November.
Recreational marijuana sales are expected to begin in Colorado by early next year.
