There is a fundraiser going on next week that supports Missouri activism efforts. What is really cool is that the event is taking place in Denver, and is being hosted by Vicente Sederberg LLC. The people at Vicente Sederberg LLC helped lead reform efforts in Colorado, and I think it’s awesome that they are also helping out Missouri efforts. Below is more information about the event, via the event’s Facebook page:
Join us on the evening of Tuesday, February 2nd from 5:30-7:30 PM as we celebrate and support the efforts of Show-Me Cannabis!
Show-Me Cannabis is a Missouri-based association of organizations and individuals who believe that cannabis prohibition is a failed policy, and regulating cannabis in a manner similar to alcohol would better control the production, distribution, and consumption of cannabis than does the current criminal market system. They are currently supporting New Approach Missouri’s medical cannabis initiative to be placed on the November 2016 ballot.
We look forward to socializing with our friends and industry affiliates, and this is guaranteed to bring a big turn out, as it falls just before the Women Grow Leadership Summit begins Feb. 3rd through Feb. 5th!
In attendance from Missouri will be Amber Iris Langston, Deputy Director of Show-Me Cannabis, as well as SMC Board Member Tom Mundell. Amber has been working in drug policy reform for 17 years, at local, national and international levels. Meanwhile Tom is the former State Commander of the Missouri VFW, and a highly decorated war veteran. Tom has testified to Congress numerous times regarding military and veterans’ issues, and recently met with President Barack Obama to discuss medical marijuana policy.
