Do you think the state’s drug policies need improvement? A town hall meeting hosted by state Rep. Mike Shirkey is a great opportunity to share your views with state leadership, activists, and citizens. Topics include state law and local ordinances on medical marijuana, as well as changes in the law to remove penalties for possession of marijuana by adults.

Attendees include Rep. Jeff Irwin, author of a bill that would remove criminal penalties for possession of small amounts of marijuana — and to instead impose a civil fine, and James Gierach, member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP).

The town hall meeting is free and open to the public, and all viewpoints are welcome.

When: August 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
