If you are in the area, check out lobby day with Virginia NORML:
Johnny —
The Virginia General Assembly will have a solid marijuana decriminalization bill to consider when they convene in January. It’s up to grassroots supporters like you to ensure that it gets a fair hearing and vote.
Join Virginia NORML in Richmond on January 14 for Lobby Day.
Virginia NORML members and supporters will convene at the General Assembly building to bring our message directly to our lawmakers. RSVP now — this is our #1 advocacy event of the year, and we need all hands on deck in Richmond!
Participants will be teamed with other constituents and meet with their legislators face-to-face to discuss the marijuana policy reforms critical to the Commonwealth. We’ll be lobbying for decriminalization, and for eliminating the driver’s license suspension upon a conviction.
“Whoa! I don’t know the first thing about lobbying!” Don’t worry, you’ll be grouped with seasoned leaders and past participants who will guide you through the process. You’ll feel the energy as ‘We, the People’ remind our representatives of their pledges to represent the will of the voters who elected them, the 71% of Virginians who support the decriminalization of marijuana for adults. RSVP now!

We simply cannot overstate how crucial it is for every reform-minded citizen to regularly call, email, or visit state delegates and senators. Use this link to find their contact info. Read this powerful letter to the editor in the Washington Post (or the longer piece the previous week) that clearly outlines how Virginia is currently doing it wrong. Share with your friends. The more people who voice an opinion, the better our chance of achieving reform in 2016. Let’s get these lawmakers thinking about ending marijuana prohibition as they prepare for the start of the legislative session in January.
Check out this blog post on our site for a sample of what you can say or write.
We look forward to joining with you on January 14 in Richmond! RSVP today.
Onward!
