Local marijuana policy reform advocates will gather Sunday for an advocacy training event at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites South in Lubbock. Details of the event are available at https://texasmarijuanapolicy.org/marijuana-law-advocacy-training-lubbock/.
The event, hosted by Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy, will be the seventh in a series of events being held around the state as part of an effort to inject the marijuana policy debate into 2016 state legislative races. An additional regional event is scheduled in Amarillo on January 9.
“Marijuana policy reform is going to be a big issue during the next legislative session, so we need to make sure it’s a big issue in this year’s elections,” said Heather Fazio, a spokesperson for Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy. “Voters deserve to know where the candidates stand on the issue. Texans are ready for reform, and our goal is to help them hold their elected representatives’ feet to the fire.”
The event begins at 12:30 p.m. CT, and representatives from Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy will be available for interviews at 3 p.m. CT.
