I wrote you last week about the incredible media coverage of our town hall meeting in Columbia. Almost every local media outlet ran a story on it, and many of them covered the event in depth.

Then the story broke nationwide when the Associated Press picked up the Columbia Missourian’s article. Within Missouri, the story appeared in Cape Girardeau, on the radio in Rolla, and in both newspapers and radio in Saint LouisIt even appeared as far away as San Francisco!

We’d like to follow up that success with our meetings in Kansas City (10/9)Moberly (10/15), and Cape Girardeau (10/21), and we’ve mostly finalized our lineup of speakers in each city. In Kansas City, I’ll be joined by my colleagues from the Show-Me Cannabis Regulation board of directors Dan Viets and Amber Langston. In Moberly, Dan, Saint Louis police sergeant and Show-Me Cannabis lobbyist Gary Wiegert, and I will head up the discussion. And, in Cape, it will be Gary, Rep. Paul Curtman (R – Pacific), and me.

If you live near one of our upcoming meetings, I urge you to join or like the event page linked above and share it with your friends!

One of the reasons our Columbia town hall was so successful last week was that supporters in the area stepped up and contributed nearly $1,000 to purchase ads in local newspapers and radio to promote the event and our mission more generally. You can help us do the same for these three upcoming meetings by contributing to the Show-Me Cannabis media campaigns for Kansas CityMid-Missouri for Moberly, or SEMO for Cape.

If you live in the Saint Louis area, you can support these efforts by attending our trivia night next Friday, 10/4. I’ve just started writing the questions, and the ten categories will include History, Literature and the Fine Arts, Stoner Music, Current Events, Science and Nature, Pot Politics, Film and Television, and — in honor of the of the Cardinals’ playoff berth — Baseball.

The event will take place Friday, October 4 at Lemmons (5800 Gravois) in Saint Louis, with doors opening at 6:30, and trivia starting at 7:00. Advance tickets for a table of eight players costs $100, or individual advance tickets can be purchased for $15. Tickets after Monday, 9/30 will cost $20 per individual or $125 for a team of eight.

The winning table will receive a cash prize of $200. This is the third time we’ve held the event, and it’s always well-attended and enjoyable for everyone involved. You can join the Facebook event page here and buy tickets at this link. And if you don’t have a full team of players, it’s no big deal as we can always put teams together that night.

I look forward to seeing many of you there!
