Online auction house Paddle 8 and the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) will host a conversation with artist Fred Tomaselli and DPA Executive Director Ethan Nadelmann at TEMP Art Space in Tribeca on the evening of Tuesday, February 12. Tomaselli is known for his series of intricately-executed paintings that have incorporated collages of both legal and illegal drugs. His discussion with Nadelmann will explore how drug regulation and legislation in the U.S. over the years has affected the art community and creative industry at large. A Q&A will follow the discussion.
This event precedes re:FORM, the art auction and cocktail party happening at C24 Gallery in Chelsea on March 4, to benefit the Drug Policy Alliance and its national and local efforts to promote alternatives to current drug policy that are grounded in science, compassion, health and human rights. An online preview and advance bidding on the auction, which includes work by Tomaselli as well as Marilyn Minter, Aurel Schmidt, Judy Chicago and many others, is now live at www.paddle8.com/forgood/dpa.
