Please join the Portland Chapter of Women Grow for our July Signature Networking event on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 6-9pm at The Laurelhurst Club!
As cannabis industry professionals, and for those looking to enter the cannabis industry, it is absolutely essential we understand that policy comes before industry. In response to this need, our July program focuses largely on civic engagement, policy change and reform, and how to communicate effectively with legislators to help ensure the success of your business!
This engaging panel includes Nikki Fisher, executive director for The Bus Project, Rayleen McMillan, Assistant Director of Government Relations at Portland State University, and Marissa Johnson, Board Advisor at Portland State University’s Center for Women’s Leadership. These ladies have a vast knowledge of how to mobilize and work towards policy change and we deeply appreciate them coming to share this information with our community! Topics that will be covered include how to prepare to vote, how to citizen lobby, and how to become more involved on a grassroots level.
We will open the evening with a presentation from sustaining sponsor speaker Green Leaf Lab‘s Chief Science Officer, Eric Wendt. Eric is a subcommittee member helping to craft testing requirements for the industry, and is also a participant in the rules advisory committee meetings. Thanks to Green Leaf Lab for their steadfast support of our chapter!
We are still in need of an event sponsor for this program, so please contact Amy Peradotta for more information!
Tickets available at Universe.com. We hope to see you there!
