I received the following alert out of Rhode Island. If you live there, I urge you to get active:
Leaders of the General Assembly have said they expect the legislative session to end soon, but they have not said they will allow a vote on legislation to legalize and regulate marijuana for adult use before the clock runs out.
Tomorrow, Thursday, June 2 at 1:00 p.m., Regulate Rhode Island and our coalition partners will gather in front of the State House (82 Smith Street in Providence) to deliver hundreds of petition signatures from Rhode Islanders who think it is time for the General Assembly to vote on regulating marijuana. We hope you will stand with us to help show how much support there is for sensible marijuana policy reform!
If you haven’t yet, please sign and share our petition to Senate President Paiva-Weed and Speaker Mattiello asking them to allow a vote on the legislation to legalize and regulate marijuana for adult use.
Please join us tomorrow and share our petition on social media so others can make their voices heard, too!
Sincerely,
Jared Moffat
Rhode Island Political Director
