Today kicks off Show-Me Cannabis’ Fourth Annual Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness Money Bomb. Each year, the event celebrates our freedoms as Americans and allows us continue the fight to expand those freedoms by reforming Missouri’s cannabis laws.

This year, your contributions are more important than ever before, as they will help launch our 2016 initiative campaign. Contrary to what many people believe, there is far more to the initiative process than submitting language to the Secretary of State and gathering signatures. Successful initiative campaigns are massive undertakings and require millions of dollars.

Thankfully, we do not need to raise that much this weekend, but our goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of the day on Sunday. As of midnight, we have already accounted for $1,500 in contributions and pledges, so we are well on our way to meeting that goal!

Take a stand for liberty this weekend by making a contribution of $10, $25, $50, or even $100 here! As usual in our money bomb fundraisers, you can also sign up for a monthly pledge, which we will count as five times its monthly value, so a $20 recurring pledge would equal a $100 contribution to the money bomb. Those of you who prefer to contribute through PayPal can send your contribution to my Show-Me Cannabis email address ([email protected]), and BitCoin enthusiasts can find details on sending that currency here.

Finally, if you would like to contribute to our sister 501(c)(3) organization, the Show-Me Cannabis Foundation, you can make a tax-deductible gift here. Those funds will be used to pay for such projects as research into and, in some cases, litigation against Missouri’s drug task forces and public education on cannabis policy in Missouri.

239 years ago, the signers of the Declaration of Independence risked their lives to create a system of government built upon individual liberty. That system has not always lived up to the ideals spelled out in the Declaration, that all men are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And whenever our government has violated those principles, it has fallen upon patriots like yourself to exercise our political freedom and expand the sphere of liberty yet again.
