vote for marijuanaBelow is a very important reminder out of Washington D.C.:

Election day is almost here! The polls will be open tomorrow, Tuesday June 14, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the Democratic primary election. If you are a first-time voter, you can register at the same time as you cast your vote. If you are already registered, you must be registered as a Democrat to cast your ballot. Click here to find out where to vote.

To find out where the D.C. Council candidates stand on marijuana policy, please check out our voter guide. There are big differences between the candidates, especially in Ward 4, where incumbent Brandon Todd received an F and challenger Leon T. Andrews, Jr. received an A. One recent council election was decided by just 78 votes, so make your voice heard!

District Democrats will also be casting a ballot for the party candidate for president. Change Politics, in partnership with MPP, posed the following question to both candidates:

“If elected, how would your administration address the current tension between state and federal marijuana laws?”

Sen. Bernie Sanders has an A and former Secretary Hillary Clinton has a B. If you’d like more in-depth information on the presidential candidates, please see MPP’s website, which has information about all of the remaining candidates.

Happy voting,
