It’s always a pleasure to update this graphic, which charts the success Michigan marijuana law reform advocates have had in adopting liberalized local ordinances through the ballot petition process.
Michigan law reserves for cities the right to use a ballot proposal to place ordinances before the people. Many townships, villages and cities have adopted pro-marijuana ordinances through the traditional process of creating law, and those are not included here.
On May 5th, East Lansing voters approved their local legal program just as their sister city, Lansing, did two years earlier.
