I came across the following forum post on 420Radio.Org:

Seeking quilt patches memorializing those who have lost their lives as a result of the continuing drug war. Also looking for seasoned quilters who can help put the quilt together as patches are accumulated.

Please post thoughts, ideas, suggestions, etc. To start with, we are seeking square patches either 3″, 4″, 6″ or 12″, so that we can piece them together into squares to comprise the quilt. We are hoping to see creative and imagination in making these patches a memorial for those who have lost their lives to the drug war, so some ideas so far are to use a piece of fabric that is meaningful to the lost loved one, such as an old piece of clothing or favorite blanket or other fabric item. Or, using a type of fabric that is meaningful to their life (for instance, using a flag design to memorialize a veteran, for instance). The patches should include the name of the person, either through embroidery or fabric pens, or any other creative way to make it. For those that are not creative, the patch could just be a piece of fabric and use a fabric pen to write the name of the person and the dates that they lived.

Personally, I am not super creative, so there are definitely far more ideas on how to make this awesome. I’m looking forward to hearing other people’s ideas and thoughts on making this project great!
