This last weekend some very hardworking marijuana activists met in Portland, Oregon for Portland NORML chapter’s first ever membership meeting. In attendance was Dallas/Ft. Worth NORML Executive Director Shaun McAlister, who addressed the Portland NORML General Membership on the importance of Oregon getting legalization done right to affect Texas’ chances at any marijuana reforms. It is a fantastic speech that describes how states that have already legalized marijuana have a responsibility to be good stewards of public policy so that momentum can build and help out other states that have yet to legalize.
