normlThe 2012 NORML Conference In Los Angeles

Earlier today I read a tweet that my good friend Kaliko sent out that really captures how I have felt all day. It read, “Waking up in Portland, when I should be in LA.” Although I didn’t wake up in Portland, I do wish I woke up in LA today, because that means I would be in town for a stellar event – the 2012 NORML Conference.

No one does it like Los Angeles. Other cities I have attended cannabis events in are great too, but there’s just something about Los Angeles that always has that ‘big time’ feel. I think it’s fitting that the 2012 NORML Conference is being held in Los Angeles, because after all, it’s a BIG year for marijuana reform. The event is being held at The Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza, which ‘sits atop historic Bunker Hill in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.’ Sounds like a good place to vape!

The speaker list at this event is like a laundry list of my heroes in the marijuana movement – Paul Armentano, NORML Deputy Director, Dale Gieringer, Ph.D, Coordinator, CA NORML, Don Duncan, California Director, Americans for Safe Access, Dan Viets, Esq., Columbia, MO, NORML Legal Committee/Board of Directors, Erik Altieri, Communications Coordinator, NORML, Stacia Cosner, Associate Director, SSDP, Aaron Houston, Executive Director, SSDP, Rick Steves, NORML Advisory Board, Morgan Fox, Communications Director, MPP, Keith Stroup, NORML Founder and Legal Counsel, Ethan Nadelmann, Executive Director, Drug Policy Alliance, Brian Vincente, Esq., Co-Chair, Colorado Amendment 64, Sabrina Fendrick, NORML Women’s Alliance, and on, and on, and on.

I have been living vicariously through DFW NORML’s Twitter Page, and I encourage TWB readers to do so as well! I want to personally thank the hardworking people at DFW NORML for sharing the conference with the world in real time. I can’t wait to see Radical Russ’ videos and to hear the stories from my other friends that could make it to the event. Keep up the good work NORML and all those that contribute to it with their time, energy, and finances!!!!!
