Vitalis won the top extraction equipment award in Canada and continues to innovate in the cannabis extraction sector.

Vitalis Extraction Technology is one of the companies in the cannabis industry that is doing so much to help set standards and push the industry forward as a whole, all while continually creating innovations in the cannabis extraction sector that sets them apart from other companies.

Most recently, Vitalis was just granted its first patent. The patent, number US10,143,937, protects the design of its cyclone separator and superfluid extraction system with a novel needle flow control valve. The novel needle valve allows the operator of the superfluid extraction system to manage the flow of CO2 running from the extraction vessel into the separator assembly and achieve process optimization for the best ratio of yield, quality, the quantity of solvent, and extraction time.

The new technology represents a significant improvement from a simple needle-valve design. The novel Vitalis Flow Control Valve allows the equipment operator to have a more delicate control over the flow of CO2 at all pressure ranges, compared to on/off or pressure control valves. It also offers the operator quick access to clean the valve if required.

James Seabrook, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Vitalis, said, “This patent exemplifies our dedication to ongoing innovation and producing equipment that exceeds the accepted standards and raises industry expectations when it comes to CO2 extraction technology. It underscores our commitment to providing our customers with the highest level of quality and workmanship. We look forward to continuing to our culture of innovation.”

Additionally, Vitalis was named Top Extraction Equipment in Canada by Lift & Co Corp at the Canadian Cannabis Awards on November 29, 2018. This is the second consecutive year Vitalis has taken home this prestigious award, further solidifying its leadership position in the cannabis industry.

After speaking with some of the Vitalis management, it is obvious that Vitalis cares a great deal about their products, customers, employees, and the overall cannabis industry with each decision they make. The company is continually praised for excellent customer care, and ensures that their employees are cared for by offering competitive pay, full benefits, ability for growth in the company, and even team building and company social events. This is exactly the kind of standard setting we need within the emerging cannabis industry.

Pete Patterson, COO and Co-Founder of Vitalis said, “As a technology company with great respect for those in the extraction equipment space, it is quite an honor to win this award. It has been a year of growth and change for us and we could not be more pleased to accept this as recognition of our entire team’s dedication to innovation and excellence.”

The award win comes on the heels of Vitalis receiving American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certification of its fabrication facility in October. Vitalis Extraction Technology is one of Canada’s first and only ASME BPV certified extraction original equipment manufacturers (OEM) in the cannabis space.
