Join Me At The Oregon Marijuana Business Law 101 Event

I have been invited to attend the Oregon Marijuana Business Law 101 event on February 22nd, and I encourage any readers that are able to attend as well. If you are a current dispensary owner, a prospective dispensary owner, or you want to learn how to start a marijuana based business in any other area (medibles, concentrates, industry attorney, etc.), then attending this event is a must.

new approach oregon marijuana legalization

One of the most common things I deal with at this blog is fielding questions from Oregonians who obviously don't understand the law. But then again, what do you expect from a state that didn't legalize medical marijuana dispensaries until recently, yet has had them operating for half a decade. This is everyone's chance to find out about what Oregon law says about medical marijuana businesses, and how to stay on the right side of the law. Below is a description of the event, and a link for where to buy tickets. Hope to see you there:

The Oregon Cannabis Industry Association is hosting an informative seminar providing Oregon cannabis industry members, and those looking to enter the industry, with an opportunity to learn from professionals across the legal spectrum. Attorneys and professionals will cover basic business law, employment law, tax law and more. A representative from the Oregon Health Authority will be on hand to answer questions about the application process and rules for the upcoming state-licensed medical marijuana facilities.

Tickets are $150. (Approval for CLE credits pending for practicing Oregon attorneys.)

Speakers include: Congressman Earl Blumeauer, business attorney Dave Kopilak of the Crux Law Group, criminal defense attorney Amy Margolis, intellectual property attorney John Mansfield, products liability lawyer Josh DeCristo, the Oregon Health Authority's Tom Burns, employment law attorney Caroline Guest, real estate/property lawyer Janet Grayson and OCIA's Executive Director Anthony Johnson. Additionally, longtime cannabis law reform activist and criminal defense attorney Leland Berger will be receiving a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from OCIA.
