In just four days, people from all over the country will be assembling here in Washington, DC,  for ASA’s first National Conference.  Putting together a conference is a lot of work, but as I was finalizing the programs this weekend I realized just how amazing this conference is going to be. If you haven’t had a chance check out the agenda, do it right now. These speakers have shaped the medical cannabis movement and most have been my personal mentors.

Here are just a few highlights:

We will hear presentations from some of leading researchers and cannabis educators like Dr. Donald Abrams, Dr Sunil Aggarwal, Mary Lynn Mathre, RN, Dr. Michelle Sexton, Dr. Jahan Marcu , and Dr. Mark Ware. Dr. John Schwarz, father of the superstring theory will be a special keynote as mentioned in the Huffington Post. We will learn about international programs from advocates from Canada, Israel, and the Netherlands. And we will hear the stories of individuals who have been fighting back like Valorie Corall, Joe Casias, and Steve DeAngelo.

At this conference we also be highlighting the various stakeholders of our movement and learn how we can all work together to end the federal conflict. We are going to brush up on our advocacy skills; and learn from advocates who have been on the front line passing initiatives, state legislation, and regulations.

On Saturday night, we will be honoring our member award winners, Matt Allen, Jim Grieg, Kari Boiter, Ryan Grim, Dr. Jahan Marcu, and Mayor Bob Filner; and we will be honor ASA’s San Francisco chapter for their exemplary grassroots work.

We have individuals registered from thirty-two states who will be meeting face-to-face with their elected officials on Monday. If you register today, ASA staff will make an appointment for you, too! Thanks to a generous donor, ASA is offering a special registration deal for any friends or loved ones who want to join you in DC. If you’re already registered, we’d like to offer half off our registration for any of your friends or loved ones who would like to join you. In addition to this, if a friend or loved one books a hotel room at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel, they will have their registration fee waived. Please see the registration page for more information on how to take advantage of this.

Don’t miss this chance to meet some influential people in the medical cannabis movement and meet with your Representatives in Congress! See you in DC this week!
