I apologize that I didn’t get this up yesterday. It’s not too late to make a difference so I figured I’d still pass the information along:

Action Alert – Call San Diego Prosecutor George Lloyd and Ask That Charges be Dropped Against Ill Medical Marijuana Patients, Dennis and Deborah Little

Canvass for a Cause has rolled out a Citizen Stop-and-Dial effort on behalf of two terminally ill, senior citizen medical cannabis patients.

The Littles, who have endured a raid and felony charges in continuation of San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis’ reign of terror on the ill and infirm, will face a preliminary exam hearing tomorrow, March 21, 2013 at 8:45AM.

All day on March 20th, canvassers stopped citizens of San Diego County, talked to them about medical cannabis and provided a cellular phone to dial the prosecutor and ask that charges be dropped against the Littles.

We want to thank Canvass for a Cause and aid them in this effort! If you would like to participate by calling the prosecutor, here is the background on the case, a contact script and the phone number with dialing instructions:

Background:
Deborah Little was diagnosed with HIV 20 years ago. Since then she has also survived cancer. Her husband Dennis suffers from debilitating arthritis. Both are medical cannabis patients and they grow their own medicine on their own property in Ramona, California.

During the months of September and October of 2012, San Diego Sheriff’s Department helicopters patrolled the rural parts of San Diego County in conjunction with the DEA’s “marijuana eradication” efforts. A Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Mr. Little’s marijuana garden from the air and immediately filed for a search warrant to raid the property. No law enforcement ever contacted the Littles to ask if they were medical marijuana patients. Instead, on October 17, 2012 at approximately 5:30 a.m. in the morning, a small army of DEA agents descended on the Littles’ property to execute the warrant. Despite their poor health, the Littles were handcuffed and subjected to police interrogation techniques. After several hours of investigation, the police dug up and destroyed all of their marijuana plants.

On November 27, 2012, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis filed felony criminal charges against Mr. and Mrs. Little. Denied the medicine that provides them relief, the Littles must now fight a criminal prosecution for exercising their rights under California State law.
