The Hawaii Senate Ways and Means Committee approved SB 1458 last week which would make significant changes to the State’s medical marijuana program. Under the proposal, the island of Oahu would have 10 medical marijuana “compassion centers.” Eleven more dispensaries would be spread out among the other islands.

There is a provision in the legislation that would benefit out of state card holders as well. People with cards from other states would be able to get a Hawaii temporary certificate for $100 dollars that would allow them to frequent the establishments. That would be a nice addition to any Hawaiian vacation. Locals rip off tourists all the time when they are trying to purchase medicine the old fashioned way, so this would sure help out a lot!
