Eric Holder cannabis marijuana berkeley law school protestRight now as I post this article, medical cannabis advocates are protesting United States Attorney General Eric Holder at Berkeley Law School where he is a guest speaker today. Below is more information if you are in the area:

Berkeley Law School is having their commencement ceremony this Saturday and AG Holder will be one of the guest speakers. We’ll be there to bring attention to the asset forfeiture suits against Harborside and Berkeley Patients Group and threatening letters to landlords throughout the state. We will not sit idly by while Holder continues this war against patients. Join us by demanding #Peace4Patients (www.peaceforpatients.org).

Because this is a law school graduation we’re crashing, we’ll be handing out fake Department of Justice recruitment fliers to graduates and families that point out the absurdity of the war on medical cannabis (see image below). Dress nicely if you can and make yourself look like a possible recruiter as you hand out our fliers!

What: Fake DOJ Recruitment action to raise awareness of Holder’s war on medical cannabis (dress nicely).

Where: Meet on Saturday at 8:45am on the west side of Gayley at the intersection with Rimway. We will then move to the Hearst Greek Theatre at 9:00am to hand out our recruitment fliers.

How to get there: The closest BART station is Berkeley Center, which is at least a mile and a half from the Greek Theater. Best to take the UC Bear Transit shuttle bus (https://pt.berkeley.edu/around/transit/routes) which runs from BART to campus. The P line leaves from BART at the intersection of Addison and the east side of Shattuck, every 15 minutes from 7 am onward. Take the Gayley/ Cory Hall stop, which is located right by our meeting place at Hearst and Rimway.
