Open Community Meeting for Safe Access DC, the Washington DC Chapter of Americans for Safe Access.
April is an active month in the medical community, the unified and active support of District patients, their friends and family members, and all concerned individuals is critical.
The Districts program currently sits in limbo, simply requiring the signature of Mayor Gray… Once Gray signs, the regulations take effect and city agencies will begin working to set a date for the launch of the District’s Medical Marijuana Program.
We are looking to expand our coalition of patients, doctors, fellow community service and awareness organizations, artists and musicians, and every individual interested in working to help protect District patients safe access to potentially life saving therapeutic treatment!
This April we should remember that many of the patients this law was crafted to protect have since passed in the 12 years since I-59 was approved with overwhelming voter support. We must all work hard to ensure that those who are ill, or might become ill in the upcoming months, are protected and receive compassionate care in their hours of need.
