Minnesota: Do You Or Does Someone You Know Suffer From PTSD?

PTSD is a brutal thing to deal with. Those that suffer should be allowed to use medical marijuana if it works for them. If you live in Minnesota, do your part and contact your elected officials and urge them to push for adding PTSD to the list of conditions that qualify for Minnesota's medical marijuana program. See the legislative alert that I received below:

US Veterans enroll - ptsd marijuana cannabis

Post-traumatic stress disorder is a life-threatening illness that can cause anguish and biochemical changes in the brain. Sufferers have found that medical marijuana can alleviate the effects of this disorder and help patients lead healthier lives, yet Minnesota's medical marijuana program does not include PTSD on the list of approved disorders. Luckily, the law established the floor and not the ceiling for the program, which is why right now the Department of Health is accepting petitions for additional conditions as well as for new delivery methods.

MPP is partnering up with local allies to submit petitions to add PTSD as a qualifying condition and marijuana flowers as a delivery method. We need patients who suffer from the disorder to get in touch with us and join our petition. We are also seeking doctors who have experience with PTSD or who would like their patients to be able to use marijuana in its natural form. If this sounds like your physician --- or if you are a supportive physician --- please connect with us and get involved. Petitions must be in by the end of July, so the clock is ticking!

Of the 25 states that have passed workable medical marijuana laws, 15 of them allow patients suffering from PTSD access to this treatment. Let's add Minnesota to that list. Please send this message to your friends, family, and health care professionals. Together we can improve Minnesota's medical marijuana program.

Sincerely,
