It has been a couple of weeks since we found out that the two teams playing in the NFL Super Bowl are the two teams from states that legalized marijuana. It’s the Denver Broncos versus the Seattle Seahawks. It’s a Super Bowl matchup that marijuana enthusiasts had been hoping for all year, and it became a reality. This might be the only time we see this matchup in the Super Bowl, and it’s certainly the only time that we will see it this close to when both states legalized marijuana.
The next states that are likely to legalize marijuana don’t have NFL teams, so even as more states legalize, it’s unlikely that we will see a Super Bowl with teams from legalized states in a long, long time. It’s extremely hard to get back to the championship game when you are an NFL team. In my opinion it’s harder than in any other sport, which is why it’s so rare to see a team do it two years in a row or more.
I tried to fight the Super Bowl marijuana nickname thing for as long as I could, but as I stated, we might not get another chance at this.
