Yesterday I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and I came across pictures from some friends that showed their tour bus up in flames!
I used to have a weekly reggae podcast when I interned for NORML called The Irie Island Hour, which gave me an amazing opportunity to meet some great musicians, many of which are even better people.
I first heard of a band called Through The Roots when they were touring with The Green through Portland in 2011. They have since continued to tour with some of the biggest names in the game, including Rebelution, Iration, Pepper, Tribal Seeds and many more.
TTR is currently on the “Chocolates and Roses Tour” with The Green, and were on their way to their next gig when their bus engine caught on fire. Everyone was able to make it out and to safety, but all of their personal belongings, including backpacks with laptops, cell phones, clothes, wallets, etc were lost.
Friends and fans have put together a GoFundMe page to help the boys recover from this unfortunate situation. Anything you can chip in will go a long way to helping the TTR continue to travel the country spreading good vibes and great music.
