Ever get too high? Here are some ways CBD can help!
By Leighana Martindale
Ever smoke to much? Or maybe eat a little too many edibles? No one likes that uncomfortable feeling that can happen when one has consumed too much THC. However, there is no need to be worried or embarrassed! It happens to a lot of people, even your favorite stoners.
So what do you do when you’ve gotten to that point or are closely approaching? Just smoke more. No, but really, just smoke more cannabis, but make sure it’s CBD. Smoking or consuming CBD will calm and reduce the psychoactive effects that THC can have on the brain. It’s truly quite amazing, cannabis is the only drug I know of that when you take too much, you just take more to let it balance itself out.
CBD is a non psychoactive cannabinoid, meaning it doesn’t get you high. CBD actually counteracts the effects that THC has on the body, which is why it can help someone get into that more comfortable and balanced state. CBD is an anti-inflammatory cannabinoid, many people also use it in conjunction with THC for relieving pain. Many also use this to help with depression, and it has been said to have mood elevating properties.
The next time you’re planning to go to a cannabis event or maybe a friends house who you know loves to smoke a lot, bring along a little CBD. Even if you’re not to that level of uncomfortable high, it’s nice to clear your head a little every once in awhile.
Ways to Consume CBD
- Sublingual Drops
Sublingual drops or tinctures, such as these from Alchemist CBD, are very effective. You just put the recommended dosage under your tongue and absorb the mixture. When taking tinctures sublingually it tends to hit our systems a lot quicker than if we were to eat it. Most people will feel the effects almost immediately. The only thing some people have issues with, is the taste.

- Flower
This will be just like any other type of flower smoked or vaporized when it comes to being a more instantaneous effect. If you’re going to event where lots of toking will occur, it’s a good idea to carry around a CBD joint or two.
- Extracts
This is what I highly recommend if you are going to a place where there will be dabs and a lot of smoking. Some events can become overwhelming fast when everyone wants you try their stuff, it’s great to switch it up every few dabs with a nice CBD one. I find that this helps me stay at a comfortable high and leaves me able to still communicate.
- Edibles
Edibles are a great method to use cannabis or hemp, but I wouldn’t recommend this delivery method in a situation where you need immediate relief. Edibles can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to take effect. making this the least helpful option when you need to mellow out asap!
- Vape Pens
Vape pens, such as these from Select CBD Oil, may be the easiest and most discreet way to calm yourself down if you’ve consumed too much THC. Not only are they easy to use but they act almost immediately just like flower or dabs would.
