Show-Me Cannabis Regulation Campaign

The 2012 Election has the potential to be the biggest time in the history of the marijuana movement. An activist from Washington once pointed out to me that if one state ends marijuana legalization, the feds will be ready for battle. But if several states end marijuana prohibition in the same election, it will increase the pressure on the feds to back off. Below is a campaign update that I just received from Missouri's Show-Me Cannabis Regulations. If you are able to help them, please do so:

The last time I wrote to you, I asked you to help the campaign collect 10,000 signatures in a week's time. I'm proud to announce that we reached that goal, with over 11,000 signatures turned in to the campaign in a single week! That's an extremely impressive figure, but we still need over 100,000 signatures to qualify for the November ballot.

That's why we're setting the bar even higher this time. In order to have a realistic expectation of making the ballot, we need another 30,000 signatures by the end of March. As daunting as that number may seem, it can be reached, but not without your help. By meeting our last goal, we ensured that we could continue paying petitioners $1 per valid signature, but those funds are running low. Please consider making a donation of $10 or more, so we can continue paying our petitioners.

If we don't gather the signatures we need in the next month, we will have to wait until 2014 at the earliest before we can vote on ending cannabis prohibition. I have been working for this cause for over a decade, and I will keep up the fight until we have won. But I don't want to wait two more years, and I know you don't either, so donate today to make this a reality in 2012!
