A couple weeks ago, on 1/25/17, after Flo had her appointment at the VA Hospital up on Marquam Hill in Portland, she drove to Hillsboro while I walked down the hill toward town to start my dispensary adventures. My first stop was at Zion Cannabis. The budtenders were super helpful (Flo is right, I really need to write down their names – sorry everyone). One of the things I found on their shelves is vape pen batteries for only $4, for those of us who need a battery but still have the charger, or $8 if you need both the battery and the charger.
From there I proceeded to walk north through town, visited the dispensary at Serra on 1st, strolled across the Steel Bridge, and slowly wandered north to Lagunitas Community Room to attend the Oregon Cannabis Industry Mixer and Networking Event that was put on by The Weed Blog to benefit a local nonprofit. It was a wonderful way to end the evening after a 7 mile wander!
Three days later on Saturday, January 28, Flo had an early appointment so I headed out and took TriMet to Tru Cannabis (NE Broadway) and started wandering north, hitting Jayne, Bloom, and Bridge City Collective before stopping at Safeway to pick up the supplies I needed to teach Frankie how I clean my glass pipes (soaking them in 91% alcohol and using salt as an abrasive). Once I finished there, I headed to Nectar on Mississippi and then wandered south to Broadway, completing an 8 mile walk.
On Monday I took public transportation to Bridge City Collective on Grand, wandered east to Botanica, then south and west to Gras Cannabis on 7th. From there I headed south to Farma on Hawthorne where I found two wonderful samples from Yerba Buena, Samoas and Tiger’s Milk. Two grams of some great Indica cannabis, for those winter evenings at home with a loved one and an interesting movie or two.
From Farma it is a short walk down 10th to the NW Cannabis Club on Powell. Here they have a few e-nail dab rigs, my preference for smoking shatter, a distillate of cannabis which vaporizes around 740°F (which is why I prefer the electric nail to a butane torch). Some friends of mine shared some shatter with me and asked me for some feedback on it. I ended up walking only 4 miles this day, but wow that shatter buzz certainly was great!
Today was Tuesday, and was my final Physical Therapy appointment. As some of you may remember (most, if not all, of us smoke cannabis, so I understand that we may not remember what I have written), a trip to my Physical Therapist is 4 miles each way. But today I decided to head north up Hall to Cedar Hills Blvd to visit Oregon Bud Company and then west on Walker to visit Green Mart once I had completed my therapy. On the shelves at Green Mart I saw something I hadn’t noticed on the shelves in any other dispensary – “jar bottom deals”. Overweight bags of great nuggets which happened to survive to the end of the display jar. Great when you need a bit more for a sudden party. They also sell ounces of trim/shake, ideal for those of us who wish to make our own infused butters or oils to use in adult baking and/or cooking. The return trip to the house brought today’s distance walked to 10 miles.
