Ever since cannabis was legalized in Washington and Colorado during the 2012 Election, I have been getting more and more questions from people asking how they can learn more about getting into the cannabis industry. The questions come from potential investors, inventors, aspiring growers, attorneys, chefs, and people that just want to land a job in America’s next great industry. While I try to offer up my advice as time allows, I always suggest to these people that they should attend an industry event, as it will provide unparalleled opportunities to learn and network with other like-minded people.
The best industry event I have ever attended was the day after Election Day in November of 2012 in Denver. The event was hosted by MMJ Business Daily and sponsored by the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA). I had never seen so many cannabis industry experts and leaders in one place before. I had been to industry events that had one or two speakers that were on par with the participants of this November 2012 event. However, this particular event had hundreds of industry experts and leaders in attendance, many of which spoke on panels about every topic imaginable. The networking I did at that event was so valuable that it will likely benefit me the rest of my life.
Fortunately for TWB readers, the National Cannabis Industry Association is hosting another event in Denver June 24-25. These people have been tremendously successful in the cannabis industry, and everyone can benefit from their knowledge and experience.
