I love all things Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP), which if you read this blog often, you are probably well aware of that fact. Whenever I meet someone new in the reform movement, and they are young and full of talent, they are almost always current SSDP members or alumni. I am always impressed with what they accomplish, and how much passion they have for making the world a better place.
I am attending the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo next month in Las Vegas, put on by Marijuana Business Daily. Whenever I’m getting ready to attend an event, the first thing I do is look at the list of speakers. I was delighted to see Betty Aldworth listed as one of the top speakers for the event, and I can’t wait to hear what she has to say. Betty has served as the Executive Director of SSDP for a little while now, taking over for the legendary Aaron Houston.
Betty Aldworth was the spokesperson and advocacy director for Colorado’s Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, which legalized recreational marijuana in Colorado in 2012. She also served as Deputy Director of the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) once upon a time. She has one of the most impressive resumes that you will find in the marijuana world, with a combination of activism and industry experience that is very tough to beat.
The Marijuana Business Conference and Expo is going to be taking place at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas November 11-13. There is also going to be a couple of investor summits around that time, the 5th anniversary for NCIA, and a bunch of other cannabis industry related functions. The cannabis industry is going to take over Vegas during that week, and the environment is no doubt going to be electric. It’s going to be a fantastic time. You can get tickets to the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo by clicking on the banner below, and as you can see, there is a discount code for TWB readers. I hope to see you there!
