High NY: The Next Generation Of Cannabis Leaders

February 8, 2016

high ny marijuanaI came across a cool event today. It’s an event geared towards the next generation of cannabis leaders, which is something that I always support. I was once a young activist, and it’s only because of the efforts and mentoring from previous generations of activists that I’ve been able to navigate a gauntlet of chaos that is the life of an activist. We need to always be looking to fill the ranks with the next generation of activists, and I think this event is going to help with that. It makes me smile thinking of how many young people will go away from this event with a new found passion for drug reform. The legendary Betty Aldworth will be there, and you should be too! Below is more information about the event, via the event’s Eventbrite page:

Event Description

High NY, New York’s largest community of cannabis activists, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts, is thrilled to feature two prominent guest speakers who are doing tremendous work in developing the next generation of cannabis leaders:

Betty Aldworth is the Executive Director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, an international non-profit advocacy and education organization focused on reforming drug policy. A veteran of the medical cannabis community, Betty served as the advocacy director for Colorado’s 2012 Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol-the committee responsible for legalizing, taxing and regulating marijuana for adults in Colorado.

Marc J. Ross is a founding partner of Sichenzia Ross Friedman Ference LLP. Mr. Ross represents clients (public and private companies, brokerage firms, registered representatives, high net-worth individuals, and hedge funds) throughout the United States, North America, Asia, Europe and Israel. Mr. Ross advises clients on securities, corporate, regulatory and litigation/arbitration matters. In January 2015, Marc began teaching the first-ever marijuana business and law course at Hofstra University’s School of Law.
