WASHINGTON – The organizers of the Business, Understanding, Development Summit (BUD Summit) announced today it would donate a portion of the proceeds from its event to the Weed for Warriors Project and Students for Sensible Drug Policy.

“From the start, the BUD Summit has set the goal of sharing revenue with organizations that represent the core values that promote smart, safe and scientific drug policies,” said attorney Brandon Wyatt, project manager for the BUD Summit and national policy spokesman for the Weed for Warriors Project.

“We are very pleased to share proceeds with Weed for Warriors Project and Students for Sensible Drug Policy. They are two groups that meet the standards that the founders of the BUD Summit set for its partners in advocacy,” added Wyatt, a decorated, disabled Iraq War veteran.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy is an international grassroots network of students who are concerned about the impact drug abuse has on our communities, but who also know that the War on Drugs is failing their generation and our society. SSDP mobilizes and empowers young people to participate in the political process, pushing for sensible policies to achieve a safer and more just future, while fighting back against counterproductive Drug War policies, particularly those that directly harm students and youth.
