Sessions Thinks Guns are Safer than Marijuana

A video obtained by ABC News contains footage of Attorney General Jeff Sessions caught being a grumpy old man while lecturing interns at an event last summer.

When one student asked the Attorney General why his policies called for such severe punishment for marijuana but lacked gun control laws when “statistically guns kill significantly more people than marijuana does,” Sessions responded that more traffic accidents have resulted from drugs than alcohol in some states that have legalized marijuana.

He added that the female intern was “comparing apples to oranges,” and that according to the American Medical Association, marijuana is not healthy. “The Second Amendment, you’re aware of that, guarantees the right of the American people to keep and bear arms and I intend to defend that Second Amendment. It’s as valid as the First Amendment,” said Sessions.

The Attorney General then asked if she agreed with him and the AMA. When she replied that she did not, he snapped “Okay Dr. whatever your name is. So, you can write to AMA and see why they think otherwise.” Someone must have missed his Metamucil. Give him a doobie, asap!

When another student from the University of California, Berkeley told Sessions that growing up in the projects, he was afraid of the police, not his neighborhood, mister scrooge replied, “Well, that may be the view in Berkley, but it’s not the view in most places in the country.” The student cut the senator off, saying that it is the view in Columbus, Ohio “where the police just recently stomped a person’s head.” Sessions flippantly replied that he is committed to civil rights.

His tumultuous views on race and marijuana are well-known. He once said he was keen on the Ku Klux Klan until he found out they consumed cannabis. Former Attorney Eric Holder went as far as to say that Sessions was obsessed with weed, and the NAACP tried to block his appointment for Attorney General on the grounds that he is a misogynist bigot.
