Learn how to make this delicious and healthy cannabis infused treat!

What if your rewards could be a treat that is actually good for you and help you further your health goals while satisfying your sweet tooth at the same time? Did you know that coconut oil actually reduces appetite, can help you lose fat, can improve brain function and help stave off infections? Coconut oil is considered a “superfood,” so it’s a positive and nutritious addition to your diet. I love coconut oil so much I will eat a small spoonful throughout the day. I notice that my hunger level decreases, while my energy level increases. But my favorite way to eat coconut oil is by whipping up a batch of these nutritious peanut butter cups, my PB Canna Cocoa Cups, using my MagicalButter machine to create cannabis-infused Magical Coconut Oil.

This delicious and healthy treat, adapted from a recipe by Lisa Beach of ThriveStyle.com, uses real, unprocessed food. The main ingredients are peanut butter and coconut oil. These guilt-free treats resemble creamy fudge and tastes just as good (or better!) than the store-bought version. Plus, chocolate and peanut butter is the best combo the Universe has ever created, aside from cannabis and yoga of course.

What inspired this recipe? Getting the munchies, but wanting to stay conscious about what I eat. I love sweet foods. You know when someone gets a big sheet cake for a birthday party, and there’s a frosting border that gets left behind on the tray as the cake starts getting served? Everyone else says, “Oh, I don’t want that part, it’s way too sweet.” Not me. When no one else is looking, I will drag my finger around the perimeter to scrape it up as much as possible, then shove it directly into my mouth. Sugar is my morphine, so you see the need for a healthy alternative is key! This recipe saves me. The fats and balanced flavors of creamy, sweet, salty and chocolate manage to hit all my requirements.

Ingredients:

4 – 8 tbsp. Magical Coconut Oil

8 tbsp. Peanut Butter

½ tbsp. Cocoa

5 drops of Vanilla Stevia (maple syrup may be substituted)

Directions:

Mix together 4 tablespoons of peanut butter, 2-4 tablespoons of coconut oil, and 5 drops of vanilla stevia. (If you are new to the taste and texture of coconut oil, I recommend starting out with 2 tablespoons. As your tastes adjust, try increasing the amount to 4 tbsp. the next time you make a batch).  Place 7 to 8 baking cups on a tray, and pour the coconut oil – peanut butter mixture into the cups. The mixture won’t fill the cups, only about a quarter of an inch worth. Place the tray in the freezer so that the mixture hardens. (Usually at least 10 minutes of freezing time.)

To make the top chocolatey layer, combine and mix the exact same ingredients, but this time add half a tablespoon of cocoa. Make sure that the bottom layer is nice and firm before pouring on the top layer, otherwise the two layers will end up mixing together. Now place the tray back in the freezer for at least 20 more minutes to firm everything up, and your peanut butter cups are ready!

To serve:

Store these treats in the freezer, because the coconut oil will make them very melty. If you plan on taking them with you to a friend’s house, you may consider putting them on ice in a cooler.

Pro Tip:

Make a non-infused batch and have them as your go-to treat when you need a snack. The healthy fats in this recipe will give you lots of energy to burn, and will regulate your blood sugar levels. This is important because when glucose absorption is stabilized, there is a reduction in inflammation; which is also what CBD is used for. Fat makes you feel satiated, meaning you’ll be able to go longer before feeling hungry again. These are so good for you, can even eat them for breakfast.
