Ask Them to Cosponsor S. 359 in the Senate and H.R. 525 in the House
Jim Politis, the Chair of the Montgomery County Virginia Board of Supervisors, and Ben Droz, the Vote Hemp lobbyist, will be on Capitol Hill asking members of the Virginia Congressional delegation to support our hemp farming bills and we need your support.
If you live in Virginia, please call or send an email to Sens. Mark Warner and Sen. Tim Kaine and ask them to become a cosponsors of S. 359, the Senate companion bill to H.R. 525, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2013.
Neither of the Senators from Virginia are cosponsors on S. 359, so please call or write today!
Also, please call or send an email to your Representative and ask them to become a cosponsor of H.R. 525 and to support allowing U.S. farmers to grow hemp once again.
Of all of the Members of Congress in Virginia only Rep. James Moran (D-8th District) is a cosponsor of H.R. 525. Also, Rep. Robert Goodlatte (R-6th District) is the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, to which H.R. 525, the “Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2013,” has been referred. So, please call or write today!
Jim Politis has been working for years to get resolutions in support of hemp farming passed by Virginia county Boards of Supervisors and has been quite successful. We hope to use these successes to get more of the Virginia Congressional Delegation to support hemp farming in Washington, DC.
