On September 26 business professionals specializing in the industry of cannabis will enjoy an elegant lunch, nine seminars and an Invention Exposition during the Michigan Cannabis Business Development Conference in Flint.
The Holiday Inn Gateway Centre will host the Conference in two ballrooms. Although no cannabis will be present or exchanged at the event, the conversation will be all about the herb- the laws that govern it, pending legislation to restrict or liberalize it, and packaging, growing, testing, teaching, securing and producing cannabis. The Invention Exposition is designed to allow new product manufacturers and inventors to meet end-users and retailers that are normally unreachable to small business.
Industry experts from as far away as Colorado are flying in to conduct seminars. Bethany Moore, representing the National Cannabis Industry Association, will anchor the Networking With Business Outside Michigan’s Borders seminar. Other presenters include legislative expert Robin Schneider (National Patients Rights Association) and founder of the Marijuana Law Division of the Michigan Bar Association, attorney Bernard Jocuns.
“I chose Flint because they deserve the revenue,” said Conference organizer Rick Thompson. “Flint passed pro-cannabis business policies earlier this year and issued licenses to medical marijuana distribution facilities. Flint has embraced the industry in a way few Michigan cities have, and they deserve all the economic prosperity we can give them in return.”
Industry sponsors for the event include Jocuns Law from Lapeer; The Sweet Leaf from Flint; Detroit’s Cannabis Counsel; 3rd Coast Medical Marijuana Dispensary from Ypsilanti; and George Brikho for Congress.
