Tom Tancredo: Marijuana Prohibition Has Failed Us
By Betty Aldworth, Campaign To Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol
We got a big endorsement for Amendment 64 over the weekend, and I wanted to make sure you heard about it.
Former Congressman Tom Tancredo has expressed his full support for Amendment 64. As a staunch conservative, Tancredo’s endorsement proves that Amendment 64 isn’t a Republican or Democratic issue — it’s an issue of common sense, and doing what’s best for the state of Colorado.
We are excited to have the support of someone who received more than 650,000 votes in the 2010 Colorado race for governor. Whether you agree with his positions on other issues or not, we hope you appreciate the importance of having someone like him endorse Amendment 64.

Once you’ve read the article, be sure to forward this email to any friends or family members you know who supported Tancredo in 2010, but may still be on the fence about, or even opposed to, Amendment 64. Then share the op-ed on Facebook and post it on Twitter.
True to his conservative beliefs, Tancredo focused on how marijuana prohibition wastes taxpayer dollars in declaring his support for the initiative. As he says in the op-ed: “Throughout my career in public policy and in public office, I have fought to reform or eliminate wasteful and ineffective government programs. There is no government program or policy I can think of that has failed in such a unique way as marijuana prohibition.”
Thanks for sharing this article, and for doing everything you can to support meaningful marijuana reform.
P.S. Between this crucial endorsement, the slew of recent endorsements from law enforcement organizations and individuals, and the poll that showed us 11 points ahead, it’s clear our campaign is picking up steam at just the right time.
